Bread making equipment
Becca asked for links to the equipment I purchased after reading Flour Water Salt Yeast: The Fundamentals of Artisan Bread and Pizza and deciding to take it up as a hobby>:
Weights and Measures
- OXO Good Grips 5-pound Food Scale with Pull-Out Display
- Smidgen Measuring Spoons (I bought it mainly for the 1/16" teaspoon measuring spoon)
- Taylor Digital Instant-Read Pocket Thermometer (I liked that not only was a battery included, so was an extra one!)
- Camwear Polycarbonate Round Food Storage Container (12-Quart)
- Camwear Round Seal Cover (12, 18 & 22-Quart)
- Camwear Polycarbonate Round Food Storage Container (6-Quart) (I started with one but ended up buying another two once I fell in love with making biga)
- Camwear Round Seal Covers (6 & 8 Quart)
Proofing Baskets
- Frieling 8" Round Brotform (I bought this first)
- 2 Piece Masterproofing Round Banneton Baskets (I've come to prefer these)
Oven Equipment
- Lodge Pro-Logic P10D3 DCast Iron Dutch Oven, Black, 4-Quart (I eventually bought a second one, to save time, since two will fit side by side in my oven)
- OXO Good Grips Silicone Oven Mitt (I bought two so I'd have one for each hand ;-)
- CDN High Heat Oven Thermometer (I used this once and discovered our oven runs about 15 degrees hot; I've never used it since)
Pizza Equipment
- Ironwood Gourmet Acacia Wood Pizza Peel
- Old Stone Oven Pizza Stone Round (16")
- Lodge Logic 8" Pre-Seasoned Skillet
Bread Knife
- Zyliss Bread Knife, 8½" (we affectionalitely refer to this knife as our faca de pão)

That's awesome! I've always wanted to be the bread making type of person but for whatever reason it seems overwhelming to me. I wish we lived closer so I could partake in the fruits of your new hobby...and maybe even get a few lessons from you in as well.
