Ostensible dream careers

(Printer friendly version)

This meme shamelessly stolen from Will Duquette:

  1. Go to http://www.careercruising.com/.
  2. Put in Username: nycareers, Password: landmark.
  3. Take their Career Matchmaker questions.
  4. Post the top ten results.

Here is apparently what I should consider doing when I grow up:

  1. Politician
  2. Corporate / Commercial Lawyer
  3. Historian
  4. Computer Programmer
  5. Judge
  6. Civil Litigator
  7. Criminal Lawyer
  8. Lawyer
  9. Anthropologist
  10. Business Systems Analyst

I have absolutely no idea how they conjured up politician as the number one suggestion for me based on my answers to the questions they asked.

Well, the job of a politician encompasses most of the other things on the list (familiarity with the law / govt and with history; an anthropological interest in people and societies; problem solving skills honed in programming), so it makes sense to me! :-)

I wonder what I should be when I grow up.... Off to take the test!

Shoot! I'm in the wrong career. According to this, I'm supposed to be a funeral director. Foreign language instructor was #19 on my list!

Rachael & Camilla: I hope you'll both blog your top ten too...

I can't really imagine Camilla as a funeral director... think of all the opportunity for tears! :-)
