Two for the price of one

Two for the price of one

Shauna had her first ultrasound today (~20 weeks)...

Ultrasound Technician: It looks like it's a girl. Oh, did you want to know that?

Shauna: Yes, that's ok.

Ultrasound Technician: Ok, now let's look at Baby B...

Shauna: Huh?

Ultrasound Technician: You did know you were having twins, didn't you?

Shauna: Are you joking?

Ultrasound Technician: I never joke with pregnant women...

Baby A is a girl, and Baby B is a boy (and there are pictures to prove it)... both babies are each the normal size of a regular (single) baby.

I think I'm still somewhat in shock... I guess I was correct when I guessed that we'd have whatever Eliza's having.

Congratulations! How many does that make, now?

With our last baby, Jane kept waking up in the middle of the night, terrified that we were going to have twins. "Jane, we had an ultrasound. There is only one. There is only one. Go back to sleep."

You lucky man! May your quiver always be full.

I can't believe you found out about it that way. Are you going to ask the doc when he might be sharing that detail with you?

Two for the price of one? I think not. Maybe 2 for the price of 2+ New vehicle, two cribs, two strollers, two carseats, two hospital bills, two stressed parents....

Wow! That is amazing, cool, and totally terrifying!

I love little ones. Call on me to babysit when needed. No, really!

Now aren't you REALLY glad you bought the bigger house! What an adventure you'll have! Do twins run in either side of the family? Congraulations!

I'm so excited for the two of you. You'll do great. And be really tired. It's interesting that you found out at 20 weeks - we were only at 7 weeks when they told us we had a lot more going on there than just one.

That's crazy guys! Congratulations. It does sound like that bigger house is going to come in handy. :-)
