A renewed appreciation for mission rules

I must say, after reading—and cringing the entire time while doing so—about the candirú, ("The Terrifying [Amazonian] Toothpick Fish") I have a renewed appreciation for mission rules (such as "no swimming in the Amazon" :-).

Nifty book embossing seal

A custom embossing seal would certainly make a great gift for anyone who loves books...

How many people are named Michael Cleverly?

Via Phil Windley's Technometria I found HowManyOfMe.com:

HowManyOfMe.com
LogoThere are:
4
people with my name
in the U.S.A.

How many have your name?

That sounds right to me. The four Americans with the name Michael Cleverly that I am presently aware of:

  1. Myself
  2. An artist and columnist in Colorado
  3. J. Michael Cleverly who is (or was?) U.S. Deputy Chief of mission to Greece
  4. Michael (Mikael) Cleverly, also with the U.S. State Department, who is (or was?) positioned at the US Embassay in Helsinki

I suspect J. Michael and Mikael are related (father/son) although I do not know that for sure. I think Mikael was at BYU at least part of the time I was; I occasionally got mail & phone calls for him.

I tend to use my middle initial online to avoid all the confusion of keeping us various Michael Cleverlys separate (though—as of today—18 of the first 20 Google search results for Michael Cleverly are about me... :-)

I would guess there are others of us living in England as that is where the ancestors of modern American Cleverlys immigrated from.
